All about Kids camp

WASAC Kids Camp is a one-week summer day camp offered to kids from over 70 schools in Winnipeg, completely free of charge. Lunch, snacks, and all activities are provided.

Each morning when the kids arrive at their school (or nearby pickup school) with their parent/guardian, they’ll be checked in by WASAC leaders to board the school bus, which brings them to camp at the Sargent Park Arena. At the end of the day, the bus brings them back to their school.

Activities at WASAC Kids Camp include :

  • swimming

  • soccer

  • handball

  • traditional Indigenous games

  • coding

  • arts and crafts

  • Indigenous cultural activities

Monday, everyone gets into their groups by grade, meets their new friends and their leaders, and then gets their t-shirts. The rest of the day, Tuesdays and Wednesdays are normal days at camp, filled with the above activities.

Thursday is carnival day. We have a bouncy obstacle course, a bouncy slide, face paint, popcorn and lots of carnival games!

Friday is PARTY day! We have a BBQ lunch and have a wind down celebration with the campers. At the end of the day, the kids can get their new friends and their favorite leaders to sign their shirts, and then they can take them home as a souvenir.
